What this address is for
The most useful message this reference receives is a correction. If a page states something a platform's documentation does not support, characterises a study inaccurately, cites a source that has moved or been withdrawn, or describes behaviour a product has since changed, that is worth sending and it will be acted on.
Also welcome: a primary source this site has missed. Platform documentation changes quietly and often, and product blogs are frequently the only announcement a change ever gets. A link to a documentation page, a changelog entry, an engineering post or a published study is more valuable here than a summary of one.
Replication is welcome too. Several pages here rest on measurements that would be stronger if more than one party had run them. If you have run a test on a defined prompt set, across a defined window, with the locale and account state controlled, the method and the numbers are of interest even when the result disagrees with what a page currently says — particularly then.
The form below
There is exactly one form on this site and it is the one below. It has no action and no method, which is unusual enough to be worth explaining: nothing you type is transmitted to this site or to any third party. The fields are read by a small script in your own browser, which assembles them into a pre-addressed message and hands it to whatever mail application you have registered. If you would rather not use it, the address is printed in full underneath the form and works exactly as well.

Consulting, professional engagements and anything commercial are handled separately at hartzer.com. Messages of that kind sent here are simply forwarded, which costs you time, so the direct route is better.
Link exchanges, guest posts, sponsored placements, paid reviews and requests to add a product to a page are declined without exception. No page here ranks or recommends a tool, no link on this site is paid for or exchanged, and no page will be edited to include a product. There is no editorial route around that and no need to ask.
Requests to be removed from a page are read carefully. Where a page names a product or a company, it does so because naming it is the honest way to explain a category, and the description is factual and sourced. Where a description is out of date or wrong, it will be corrected. Where it is accurate, it will stand.
Response times, and what happens next
This is a reference site maintained alongside other work, not a support desk. A correction with a source attached is usually the fastest thing to act on, because it can be verified directly against the source you sent. A general question may take considerably longer, and a question already answered by a page on the site may not get an individual reply at all — if you have read the page and it does not answer the question, say so, and that is a signal the page needs work.
When a correction results in a change, the page is edited and its modification date moves. The site keeps a per-page date manifest for exactly this reason: a page that says it was updated is a page that was actually updated, and the sitemap reports the real date rather than today's.
Nothing sent to this address is added to a mailing list, because there is no mailing list. No newsletter is published from this site and no subscription of any kind is offered here.
Privacy
Because the form composes a message in your own mail client, this site never receives the contents of the form and stores nothing you type into it. Once you send the message it lives in your mail provider's system and in the recipient mailbox, and nowhere else that this site controls. The privacy policy covers what the site does and does not collect in general, which is very little.
